How to select steel grating
Selection starts with the support span and the service load. For pedestrian walkways with a 1000 mm span a 30 × 2 mm bearing bar is sufficient; at 1500 mm you need 40 × 2 mm or 40 × 3 mm.
The environment determines the finish: hot-dip zinc to PN-EN ISO 1461 outdoors, stainless steel 1.4301/1.4404 in the food and chemical industries, and heavy-duty pressure-locked grating where the support span exceeds 1500 mm.
